SOLAR PLANT IN COLORADO

Xcel Energy outlined its plans Thursday for a solar power plant that could supply enough electricity for 1,800 Colorado homes without consuming scarce water or producing any pollution. The photovoltaic plant in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado will produce about 13,700 megawatts a year. Construction is expected to start this year and finish next year. Currently 2 percent of the electricity sold in Colorado comes from renewable sources as wind w solar power, will be 10 percent in 2015.
